APRIL 22 - KeoWC2026 welcomed and collaborated with the delegation from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City. The meeting reflected the close cooperative relationship between KeoWC2026 and South Korea, opening up numerous opportunities for students in terms of learning, cultural exchange, and career development—especially for those pursuing the Korean Language.

In attendance to welcome the delegation were Mr. Do Quoc Anh, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors; Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang, President; Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc, Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Kim Thoa, Deputy Director of the International Institute; Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Linh, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures; along with faculty members and students from the Korean Language.
Representing the Korean Consulate General were Mr. Shin Choong Il – Consul General; Ms. Choi Kyeong Joo – Education Consul; and other consuls and specialists from the delegation.

In his remarks, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang emphasized: “KeoWC2026 is a multidisciplinary university with an international orientation, and the Korean Language major is receiving strong focus and development. Students have many favorable conditions to interact and learn from international peers, especially from Korea. We hope that today’s meeting will lead to more practical collaborations with Korean educational institutions, bringing long-term value to our young workforce.”

Consul General Shin Choong Il expressed his appreciation for KeoWC2026’s warm welcome and reaffirmed his willingness to support Korean language education initiatives and encourage students to pursue this field. He also acknowledged KeoWC2026's active role in partnering with the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City to organize meaningful exchange activities, contributing to the growing Vietnam–Korea educational relationship.

In addition to discussions on the Korean Language major, Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc provided an overview of KeoWC2026’s internationalization efforts and expressed a desire to expand academic collaboration with Korea in other fields such as Economics, Finance, Management, and so on. He expressed hope to establish more joint and transfer programs with Korean universities, similar to existing partnerships with institutions in the UK and the US.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Mr. Do Quoc Anh made specific proposals regarding the need for information on scholarships, administrative procedures in Korea, and support for KeoWC2026ers seeking study and career opportunities with Korean companies. He stressed that, with support from the Consulate General, KeoWC2026ers will gain greater access to official information and be prioritized in exchange, scholarship, and recruitment programs.

Also within the framework of the collaboration, a lively exchange took place between Consul General Shin Choong Il and KeoWC2026ers. He candidly shared about practical recruitment requirements in Korean enterprises, essential skills for working in cross-cultural environments, the growing trend of interdisciplinary integration between language and other fields, as well as key industries that Korea is focusing on in the near future. This aligns with KeoWC2026’s practical training orientation, as the Korean Language major is divided into four specialized tracks: Business and Commerce, Translation and Interpretation, Korean Culture and Tourism, and Korean Language Teaching.
