FBA Alumni Mentoring: Alumni Share Experiences And Inspire Students To Conquer The Global Environment

05/25/2026
The connection between generations of students at KeoWC2026 has never been limited to the years spent together in lecture halls, but also extends through the continuation and sharing of practical values when entering the labor market.
With the desire to build a strong student community where valuable experiences can be passed on to create a generation ready to reach further, the Alumni Mentoring program of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) has become a meaningful bridge. As part of the program, Training Workshop 3 with the theme “Global Passport - Conquering the International Environment” created an open discussion space on the evening of May 22. Here, students had the opportunity to approach practical perspectives from alumni who have been affirming themselves at multinational corporations.
FBA first-year and second-year students gained more practical experience from alumni mentors.
The workshop welcomed the return of two outstanding alumni: Le Danh Thanh Tung - currently working in the Customer Experience Department at ShopeeFood, and Tran To Quyen - Assistant to the Director at De Heus. The participation of these two mentors provided vivid examples of a professional career development journey from student life to becoming key personnel at major enterprises.
PhD. Huynh Nhut Nghia - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration shared the practical values that the program brings.
At the beginning of the sharing session, the speakers directly addressed common “misconceptions” students often have about multinational corporations (MNCs). Instead of thinking that these companies are only for “perfect” individuals or those with flawless foreign language skills, the mentors affirmed that MNCs seek suitability and a willingness to learn. English is essentially a communication tool, but a “Global Mindset” and problem-solving skills are the most important factors for individuals to survive and develop. Rather than striving to become a “know-it-all,” students should train themselves to become “learn-it-all” individuals, maintaining an open mindset to continuously absorb new knowledge from professional environments.
To realize the dream of reaching the international market, the mentors systemized a comprehensive “skill toolkit” through four important levels. Starting from the foundational level with responsibility and self-learning ability, students need to advance to the execution level by mastering foreign languages, digital tools, and teamwork skills. At a higher level, analytical ability, learning agility, and critical thinking will become leverage for improving work performance. Finally, to become outstanding personnel, building a personal brand and expanding professional networks are considered the “launching pad” for a long-term career journey. Reputable learning resources such as Coursera, LinkedIn Learning, and academic competitions were also introduced as essential companions on this journey.
Alumni outlined a clear roadmap from student life to becoming adaptable personnel in multinational environments.
One of the key contents that attracted the most attention was the four-year university experience roadmap to build an impressive CV. In the first year, students were encouraged to focus on building a foundation through union activities and clubs to develop soft skills. Entering the second year, students were advised to participate in scientific research and case study competitions to form business thinking. In the third year, opportunities to step into the global environment become broader through student exchange programs or early internships at small businesses to gain practical experience. In the final year, identifying target companies, practicing interview skills, and graduating with excellent academic performance become important transitions for students to confidently enter the professional environment.
Students actively participated in activities and confidently raised questions to receive orientation for self-development throughout their four university years.
Closing the workshop, the message “success in preparation is preparation for success” left a strong impression on every student attending the event. The sincere sharing from alumni was not only knowledge but also a great source of motivation for KeoWC2026 students to continue pursuing their passions. With dedicated support from the alumni community and an educational philosophy focused on experience and future readiness, KeoWC2026 students can confidently own their “global passport” to conquer new heights on the international career map.
